The design of this 30 acre homestead in southern Ontario carried with it some inspiring and lofty goals. Addressing water security was a major focus as a single well was responsible for all water use on site. A 1.8 million gallon pond is now planned to provide water resilience along with a 30 thousand gallon bio filtration pond for recreation and irrigation.

Included in the design is a 3/4 acre market garden with room for expansion along with 1/2 acre food forest filled with plenty of diversity including apples, pears, plums, and berries. Rotational grazing for chickens, goats, and pigs along with km’s of trail systems provides a well rounded homestead that will support self reliance in a community setting.

Additional wish-list elements designed into the property include maple syrup production, bee keeping, microgreen production, composting, dog boarding, glamping, cabin rentals, nature spa, root cellar, sports field, greenhouse, outdoor summer kitchen, shooting range, and many others.
